I posted here the other day asking for suggestions for a new road bike in the region of £300.
The reason I’m looking for a new bike is that my old one was left out to the elements (see pics) for a while as I moved house and didn’t have good storage options. It’s a pretty good bike though – a Boardman Hybrid 8.6.
With a budget of £300, would I just be better off getting my current bike serviced including buying some replacement parts like a new chain, new discs, etc. I’m not sure how much things like this usually cost.
Would it also be possible to add drop handlebars to this bike?

A new chain is cheap, I’d try that before doing anything else. May need brake pads, but rotors generally last a while. Drop bars are possible but will require new brifters and it gets more complicated and pricey.
