    I’ve got four bikes and one has to go. I love them all, but I just don’t have the room (or time) to ride them all as much as they deserve. Plus, they’re all set up relatively similarly as I mostly use them for commuting (road and light gravel). I’m leaning toward selling the Hardrock, but keeping the bullmoose because I don’t know when I’ll run across another pair (and they’re damn comfortable), but I would love some other thoughts.

    * Trek 720 (’93)
    * Trek 950 (’89)
    * Specialized Hardrock (’89)
    * Kona Fire Mountain (’99)

    HardRock. Its got a nice paintjob and some nice aesthetics but the Kona and the Treks are nicer

    The white trek 950 is my favorite. The Kona looks like a fun little ripper. I’d probably ditch the black trek 720, keep the Hardrock (that paint). So you’re left with bikes from different manufacturers.

    The only two that feel redundant to me are the 950 and the hardrock. Between those two I’d keep the hardrock.

    FWIW, looks like the seat post is backwards on the 720?

    How much do you ride on the drops of the 720? If the answer is “not much”, then that may be a sign.

  6. Kona. Cause it looks too new. After you sell that, you need to buy 2 more, cause the n+1 rule. Hey, I didn’t make it up.

    If it were me, I’d decide based on the set-up. The Specialized and the Kona are the most similar so either one. But one is a back-up to the other facilitates the n+1 law.

    Keep the Specialized because of the bullmoose, cantilevers, raked fork, level top tube, colors.

    Keep the Kona because of the threadlessness, v-brakes, straight fork, sloping top tube, higher bb, colors. Frame tubes look larger in diameter so a stiffer frame cpmpared to the other 3.

  8. The real answer: the significant other that told you to get rid of your bikes

  9. If it was me I would sell the Hardrock. Tough to let go of those Bullmoose bars though.

    The last one I would ever get rid of is the Trek 950. The Trek 720 gives a different ride with drop bars and the larger wheels. Even so the two coolest ones to me are the Trek 950 and the Kona.

    I just want to know where to buy the saddle on the white Trek 950. That’s exactly what I need in my life.

  11. I need to get rid of two bikes myself. I don’t want to turn this into a thing but a thread like this of my own might be really helpful. Just to see what others think. I most likely will be copying the idea OP.

    Whatever you do don’t sell the Trek 950.
