Helloo, total bike newbie here. I bought this single speed bike a few months ago and i think only left it outside a couple of times but almost all the bolts and connecting parts are starting to rust. i guess a lot of cheaper parts were used, i can probably replace the little bits. im more worried about the tube connected to the pedal and if there is rust building inside. I really dont know what im looking at or have any experience with this but i’m getting into it and would like to improve this bike with time, so im here to learn. does the rust in these images look bad? anything i should be worried about? is it worth replacing the smaller rusted parts? i’d appreciate some advice 🙂 thank you!

It’s fine, it’s a solid price if metal. Use a wire brush or steel wool with some wd-40 to get the rust off the surface and try not to leave your bike outside, as it’s not designed to be exposed to the elements for long periods of time.

It’s just surface rust. Clean it off, and keep your bike inside or covered up when outside.

I recommend cleaning your bike more often, a simple water hose would do fine

I f you live in an area where they salt roads in winter or near a body of salt water, that can accelerate rust.
If you want to improve the appearance of the rust you can drip some lubricant like BoeShield T9 on the rusty areas and use a brush on the rust. If wont all disappear but it will improve the appearance of the bright orange rust on the dark surfaces. You could use a little but of chain lube (even though your bike doesn’t have a chain) it can be used to lubricate your brake pivot points and you can drip some on the cables where they enter the cable housing. Be sure to wipe off all excess lube
The rusty part on the pedal is called the spindle or axle. Your pedals have a seal to keep some moisture out of the bearings, so the internals of the pedals are likely less rusty and still spinning smoothly.
The rusty part that connects the crankarms to the frame is called the bottom bracket spindle. It too has seals to keep water out, and provided it still spins smoothly, should be fine.

Muc Off makes a lot of bike protection sprays made to protect your bike from surface rust like that. I use MO 94 it’s better than WD-40 and smells better too.

Clean your bike and don’t store it away wet or leave it outside.
A bit of water displacement spray (wd40 for example) on those parts will do wonders too.
