Context:
I was biking back home from work and a car suddenly swerved into the bike lane right in front of me. It would have taken me out if I were 5 feet ahead. When we got to the stoplight I looked in the window and it was some lady texting on her phone.
Idea:
Is it possible to lobby for my city to create small posts that stand up along bike lanes? Kinda like this. What if they could be painted so if someone hits them it leaves a mark on the car? Then have a severe fine if someone observes the hit and there's paint on the car to prove it?
It seems like something like that would be a HUGE help to cyclist safety…
