Zip ties are great! In case you don’t know, if you need to get something secured a bit more heavy duty, there are metal cable ties that is strong enough to use for plumbing that you can use! I used them to put a basket that was designed for handlebars on the rear rack, as one of the zip ties I put on snapped and they’ve worked great

I have nothing to add, except that I love that color. Reminds me of the R34 GTR Bayside Blue, if a bit more matte.

Does it work OK? I find that the slide tolerance is minimal on these racks. I clean out the rails frequently, but it still puts up a bit of a fight each time you manoeuvere the trunk bag on or off.
