First Bikepacking trip under our belts! We wanted to do this route last year but ended up getting COVID a week before.
We decided to try half of the route this past weekend to see our capabilities and our gears’ shakedown.
Point-to-point from Independence to Alabama Hills.
Highlights:
– major headwinds on the foothills climb. (there was a strong gust that almost blew us off the trail!)
– chanced a pilgrimage event at Manzanar Historical site.
– front row seats of Mt. Whitney at Alabama Hills.
– Whitney Portal Rd. was closed so we descended back to hwy 395 through Lubken Canyon
