As someone that hasn’t rode a bike in years, and never got deep into BMX (I went the motocross route) I pulled my old bike from when I was a kid out of storage. It is a Haro Nyquist R1, with the bare frame that is clear coated. It appears as there is now surface rust under the clear coat. I threw new tires on it and new tubes, took everything apart and lubed everything up. And it works great.

But, what do I do with it? Should I sell it and get something different, should I just give it away to some kid? What is this thing worth? Should I leave it with the patina it has, or strip it and paint it. Thoughts? Opinions?

  1. As a survivor it’s cool, the patina is perfect for the era, but its really not worth anything financially, kepp it as a corner shop run bike or give it away, a kid at the local skate park would love it, just find one who’s parents are there so it’s not weird and make sure they either own a helmet or will buy one before they ride it.
