Matt and Rhiannon suffer a secondary knock-on effect of the ‘B*tch from Belfast’ incident from the previous day… which up ends the whole day and leaves them with a huge dilemma.

Will it stop the whole challenge? Will they sacrifice heavily to keep the challenge alive and where did they eat?

stopping here godness where we are if it could have gone wrong today it has right so we are here on day five we’ve got a lovely view except from the weather is kind of uh sort of massed it a little bit but had a bit of a slower start today considering the ferry was so far delayed um slept for about 7 hours which isn’t too bad uh and today we make the 94 mile trip to Dun Barton um it’s going to rain and it’s windy however judging by the way that the winds are blowing the bushes it’s a southernly wind which means it’s going to blow straight up my backside and help me on my way up so it’s all good except for my no there’s a massive Hill just up there so I might start the day with a few steps rather than a few uh pumps to the leg I have washed these with water and it does absolutely nothing so they’re soaking wear but because of the conditions outside I’m going to slip these on soaking wear like this oh well now I’ve got no excuse I’m going to be wet anyway so [Music] [Music] so we’re 20 mil in and I was wrong I’m cycling into the bloody wind 40 30 mph head winds plus that going straight past me you can see from the road there isn’t a lot of room so uh it’s Works everyone has been very very respectful and I do appreciate that this is horrendous my right knee’s buggered I got KNE support on I need a lot of support the rest of this trip I [Music] think so stopping here God know where we are G by looks of it for the first time today Bri labels I’m going to the toilet so you’re not you’re not coming in there just stopped at go van right into the wind um had to change my socks cuz my feet were getting cold but we’re only 13 mil for me while we got fit up there disaster um as you can see gar sprocket is snapped 30.4 miles in today now going to have to call a repair person out to this location if it could have gone wrong today it has this is the first real disaster we’ve had in the whole thing and this really does now depend on whether we can get someone out to repair it or whether we’re going to have to come straight back here drive off put the bike back on and go get it repaired I didn’t know we find hello hello I uh um sorry this is going to be the most random call you’ve probably had in a long time I’m currently uh stuck I’m cycling trying to do a world record um cycling from Ireland um to the north into Scotland down into England and Wales uh I’m in aisher which a place Milton bur I think it’s just down the road well little bit down the road from you um and I think the gear sprocket I’m not a bike expert I think the gear sprocket is snapped I’m trying you thing I don’t I don’t recognize the name of the the place that you said um I’ve got the watch we’re on kirkus kirkus W Road C sorry yeah my pronunciation is terrible picture obviously that’s no good right so I’ve called the bike repair bloke Allan really nice guy he says the um the derailer is bent and then snapped which would have you I was asking if it was caused by anything and I worked out exactly what it was that stupid cow that almost flattened me in Belfast that caused me to crash that’s exactly where that would have been caused by so if the woman who actually caused that yesterday is watching this I really hope you’re proud of yourself cuz you are creating one hell of a story right here so fair play to you you are a total noise but you know if you’re looking at this in a negative mindset yes it pushes a day back yes it’s not deal no it’s not great when I’m soaking wet I’m sat back in the car you know and we’ve still got you know 60 bloody miles to cycle today but on the flip side it gives us some solid storyline afterwards so as much as I hate you I also appreciate the uh opportunity so cheers [Music] no I said yesterday the next time we put this on top it would be the Finish Line I was wrong so we’ve racked the bike again and we’re going to drive off to air to go to Halford they’ve confirmed they’ll fix it 50 Quid new piece bam but we need to come straight back to this exact location um to basically start from here cuz it’s as far as I got and between everyone we’ve marked him I think we’re going to get this solved Jamie thank you very much he’s looked after us today um we’re going to get the bike back on and I off to Glasgow but this guy is literally helped us out to nowh basically Halfords were amazing uh Jamie um really sort us out they didn’t have the holder for the derailer um and it is completely bent so they’re going to have to take it off put a new one on apparently it’s not too difficult and it shouldn’t take too long um so we’re off to Alpine by this now [Music] we’re here in Alpine bikes in Glasgow and the team are repairing the bike look at them go look at this it’s like a pit stop in Formula 1 but even better um this place is incredible it’s like a playground for me they got climbing walls all sorts so uh going take a little look around [Music] and guys thank you very much for everything you’re doing and um more than welcome it means we can actually complete The Challenge on time without having to to try and rejig it or me doing 140 M day which I didn’t want to do so Sam and Melissa have amazingly fixed the bike they’ve given it once over clean they’ve done everything amazing um so guys thank you both so so much for that now this was the problem okay so obviously that woman trying to take me out in Belfast yesterday it should look like that straight that was the one that’s what she did to my bike guys if you’re ever in Glasgow I’m not just saying this these guys are the best what they’ve just done has just saved the event so a bit of persistence on our end we been in and out but these guys have just done far beyond what I thought they were going to do and at a hell of a discounted rate for us as well so guys at Alpine bikes in Su thank you very much thank you yes R it’s going to be a late finish T night so yeah but we are just leaving go now um unbelievable job they fixed the bike straight back to the layby it’s an hour and 14 minutes 50 m away just to cycle straight back this way yippy didy um got a headache already but I think that’s probably just through stress um I’ll relax a little bit get back put the pink pineapple shorts back on looking like I’ve cracked myself and just stick straight back to the job so got 68 M to cycle today we’re on the M77 heading out of Glasgow and there’s been an accident of course there [Music] has um and this traffic is dog so um it’s going to be a nice long drive back we still got 57 minutes [Music] halfway through the cycle now um we’re about 47 miles from dartan so it’s going to be a very late finish probably 1:30 in the morning um yeah we’ll Endeavor to go through we’re on weather spoons and uh we’re we’re going to have a bite to eat cuz we haven’t eaten properly all day so yeah it’s just one of those isn’t it and uh we obviously update you when we get to the place of sleep and tomorrow off the foot of the [Music] Ben so end of a very very long day it’s about 3:00 a.m. um we got to the hotel about half an hour ago just had a bath hands are sore my right knee’s buggered and I’m shattered so we’re going to have a slow start tomorrow and just make our way up it takes as long as it takes basically is what it is anyway I’m going to go to sleep now so no night
