So this is my first time running tubeless and I have a couple of questions. First off the specs..
So I have two Syncros RP 2.0 rims from my Scott Addict 30 and a brand new set of 700x28c Pirelli PZero tires
Both rims were taped from the factory and claimed to be tubless ready even though I never used them as such.
I installed the rear tire without incident and it even hold air without sealant, the tires bead stays on no problem even when deflated.
The front rim had a tear in the rim tape so I hit up my local bike shop and they told me to retape the rim and sold me some Stans rim tape 27mm.
I asked because my rims only had 19mm internal width and he said I should go larger and if they were to tape it in their shop they would use the 27mm.
So I retaped the rim going around twice with lots of pressure and honestly it looked good but now the front tire i cannot get to hold it's bead when it is deflated. I've tried soap and I have a giant air compressor so I can get the pop sound but as soon as I deflate the tire to add sealant the bead comes off the rim.
Is this tape to wide? Is this normal? Any help would be appreciated.

27 is way too wide. When taping rims, you should get tape 2-5mm wider, depending on manufacturers’ recommendations. Your tires bead has nowhere to sit as the tape is sitting there.
Tape is too wide, but that’s not necessarily your problem. I install tubeless tires all day long and maybe 1 in 7 new setups won’t stay seated when deflated. Another 1 in 7 will require gorilla strength to unseat once they’re inflated.
