Just got these Recon Laces the other day and have been loving them so far.
Was looking for a simple white SPD shoe and caught these on sale for like $200. Have been rocking the Shimano XC5 in all black for a while, which I totally enjoy, but wanted to mix up the color.
The Recons are so stiff and comfortable! I wasn’t sure about using laces since the XC5s have Boa, but it’s honestly not an issue for me. Maybe because my first SPD shoes were the Adidas Velosambas I’m used to laces? Im not one to need to adjust mid-ride so laces aren’t a problem.
Still really enjoy the XC5 so still gonna rock those want I want a more black focused look, so these aren’t totally replacing them.
For size reference, I’m typically an 11.5 US Mens and got these in a 45. The XC5 I got a 46, so not sure why the discrepancy.
Also, sorry for the shit pics…I was like 40 miles in and on a little beer break lmao
