Riding with a horizontal safety flag/rod might be the equivalent of a pedestrian brick. Drivers are more afraid of scratching their paint than of hitting someone.
It’s at least an interesting idea for some folks, but I live in a place where something like this might conceivably trigger “stand your ground” laws. And it certainly runs the risk of triggering the kind of person that feels like a big man because these laws exist. Doesn’t much matter if they go down or not if I’m just dead in the gutter.
But I hope some of y’all live in a place this wouldn’t be such a terrifying prospect!
