This is the first idea but I quickly learned how not possible it is. The bungee I found in the middle of the road, is too taught and won’t allow the lock to be removed/unlocked with ease. It’s a struggle.

I found the crate in a marsh behind a Kohls. My mechanical bike for slowing down, only has one water bottle cage, and with the incoming cargo netting I’m getting makes it easier to carry thigns. The short and modified crate walks makes it so I’m not leaning against the crate while cycling, which I hated before.

It’ll hold my pump, locks, 2 water bottle, my tools, and whatever tops are needed for that day.

There are so many weird sentences. I hate typing from the phone, but that’s where the photos are.

How about some velcro strips? I also feel like you could probably push the two prongs through the holes at the back and then lock the shackle part on the outside of the basket. Potentially it could slide backwards that way and hang off the end, but it won’t fall out completely.

The crate customization is really neat. Velcro is probably the easiest and cheapest, although I think you might try storing it vertically (as in, fastening it to the side of the crate) since laying it flat will make an uneven surface for whatever stuff you want to put in the crate itself.

Try carrying the lock vertically, hanging from one side or from the rear of the rack. Use that same bungee loop arrangement that you have setup on the bottom of the basket, just move it to the side.

If you don’t want to carry it outside the basket you can cut a slot in the floor of the basket that the lock can drop straight down into.

You could even carry it on its back sticking up out of the basket if you wanted.
