Hi all, recently got back from a few nights away on my Temple Cycles ‘Classic Lightweight ‘. I really enjoyed my time away, but some of the hills were a struggle with my 39t chainring and a 12-36 cassette in the rear. I’m quite new to bike maintenance/ tinkering, but would it be theoretically possible to change my gearing setup to a 9 speed 11-46 cassette on the rear with a Microshift Advent X derailleur? Would I be able to keep my current chain ring and current rear wheel with no issues? I realise this isn’t the most ideal bike for touring, but the most I’ll be doing is a few nights away at a time on paved roads (primarily use my bicycle for commuting). Using an 11-46 cassette would bring my low gear inches down from a current 29 to around 23…
Really appreciate any advice you may have!
