    Actually saw the baggage handler casually drop it on another piece of luggage where it bounced off and went on the tarmac. Quite annoying considering it was labelled as special luggage and fragile.

    Edit: it was in a Dimpa bag with some padding on the sides.

    These rack stays are easy to bend back into place. Just put some muscle into it and twist the whole assembly back into place.

  3. sorry to sound harsh but that should have been a calculated risk when u clad a 12kg steel bike with plastic thin Dimpa, even with add on paddings, you are gambling with luck and this is what you get.

    my personal prefence for flying is always; B+W hard case or alike. yes they are heavy, Expensive and not so mobile but they are built like tank to protect your precious bike inside. i have flown at least 4 times Europe – Asia – Europe with Qatar Airways, not a single issue i had with them and the luggage
