  1. Probably best because you have internal cable routing. That can get tricky real quick for a home mechanic.

  2. The shop might be able to get away with trimming the end of the outer , depending how much slack there is. This will be a lot cheaper than having a whole new outer cable installed. Also, from the bend in that cable, a slightly shorter run at the rear might actually help it a bit. So if you are lucky you might only be on the hook for a trim and new inner cable.

  3. The hole in the frame where the cable comes out of, is it supposed to be bare like that?
