I can’t find any other rack that will fit the geometry of this bike. I took it to Sporting Life, Sorts check and MEC, and they didn’t have anything that would fit.
Cannondale Adventure 2 does not come with the built-in rack that Adventure EQ has, however Cannondale does NOT sell the EQ rack on its own, it’s been discontinued.
I plan on putting a 50lb load on it (bike touring), but as you can see it is attached to the bike seat tube rather than the frame. My body weight is about 120lbs or 150lbs with equipment/backpack.

This seller is advertising this rack as “Cannondale rack” meaning it’s meant to fit a Cannondale bike, NOT that it’s Cannondale brand. That’s super deceitful. I bought the exact same one for $20 online.
I think it will be fine.
Ensure you have protection on your seat stays from that rack. I had a very similar one that chipped the fuck outta my paint
Anything attached to the seat post is not really for a heavy load.
Look on Amazon for an Ibera PakRak. It’s what I have on both my touring bikes, and one is very slack with a sloping top tube, almost MTB geometry. If that frame you have has rack points where the seat stays meet the seat tube it should fit.
You can adjust the height of the rack so it sits lower to the tire (what you want anyway for panniers). Then the front stabilizer bars should reach.
If not, then you can return it and with this rack remove those clamps and attach the vertical supports to the rack mount points. That will take some weight off the seat tube.
Just remember, racks are not made for any one particular bike. It can take some ingenuity to get them to fit. You can bend the front stabilizers as they just keep the rack from rotating.
I ran a rack like that for *years* on my “beer runner”.
It had small rubber pieces to protect the paint where it clamped. If yours doesn’t, you could do the same thing with some inner tube.
If you already have it, rock it, but I remember it wasn’t really the best rack.
I no longer have it on this bike and have since donated it, but you wouldn’t even be able to tell it was on there for over 5 years.

None of those POS racks work well. A proper rack that uses your frames eyelets will always be superior.You might be best visiting your LBS and mocking up the racks they have to see what’ll fit your bike. You also may need to swap the included seat collar for one with rack mounts if you run into the struts being short. Just never use those garbage racks for carrying anything but light loads.
Have you checked out the Thule pannier rack. I use one on my hard tail for hunting it works well. Also Old Man Mountain makes lots of racks that fit a variety of different bikes.
