Back in the day, people used to say “if you have a good frame, you’re set for life. You can keep hanging new good parts on it…”
I still subscribe to that philosophy. This was the best frame I knew of 40 years ago. I had to wait decades to get one, as the price has gone down and my income went up from $3 an hour working at a bike shop. I keep finding new little details to add and it just keeps getting better with age. It’s a 1972 Raleigh Professional with all butted Reynolds 531 tubing, chrome details – top of the line for 1972, made in the Carlton factory in Worksop near Nottingham.
