Stuck in a pickle – C Line Explore vs P Line Explore

Hey guys, I’m currently stuck in a pickle and need some advice! 🙃

I recently travelled back to Malaysia and the Brompton AD here pretty much overstocked on C Line Explore and they’re currently offering 15% Discount for a 2022 brand new M6R. This is such a good deal as it’s quite a significant cost savings than if I were to buy it in Singapore where discounts on Brompton is unheard of.

I had initially wanted to get the P Line 12 Speed after but it’s pretty much sold out everywhere.

On a conversion basis, the cost of an M6R from the Brompton Malaysia AD is going at (USD$1.5k / SGD$2088 / RM7310). Getting it in SG would be (USD$2252 / SGD$3070 / RM10,745).

Taking into the discounts + currency advantage I have from using SGD to spend in Msia. It’s an effective 31% discounts which is pretty insane for a brand new Brompton.

I cycle pretty much on flat with minor uphills in SG and Msia.

Considerations:
– Should I just get the cost savings and upgrade along the way to reduce the weight of the C Line?

– Are there significant differences in top speed between the C Line Explore vs P Line Explore that’s noticeable?

If so, anything I could do to upgrade to make the C Line better?

– The C Line explore that’s on sale is the Silver version, is there any difference compared to the black edition aside from just colour differences.
