I just cut to size and installed the chain, following all instructions and also taking care to leave the side of the connecting plate outside with the “depression” (indentation).
Is this jiggling supposed to be normal ?! Or is my chain trashed…?
Quick (connecting) link is loose after installed on 6/7/8 speed Shimano chain (CN-HG71)

One additional thing: if you turn the volume up you can hear the rattling and looseness of the “connecting link with hole “ as stated in the printed instructions.
Really any help would be greatly appreciated. Do I need a new chain ?
What make is the connecting link?
