Hello!

A little bit of a NBD post for me! I had been eying the Fuse for a few weeks thinking that it would be a nice upgrade from my previous crappy BikesDirect bike I had before. At 6’2” I found a size XL at my local bike shop that had been traded in after a week of use because the guy that originally bought it got a chip in the paint on the top tube from the handlebars coming around and hitting it. They offered it to me for $779, so of course I had to buy it as I saw it as a killer deal for a simple paint chip, doesn’t bother me much.

Ive taken it out about a dozen times now & Im absolutely in love with it. My question though has to do with the geometry. On the Specialized website the listing shows a slightly different frame shape than the one I had bought. Compared to mine, the pictures on the website show the top tube & down tube connected to each other for about 4” down from the head tube. Whereas with mine, the top tube & down tube aren’t connected at all. The line from the head tube all the way down to the end of the seat stays is also vastly different from my Fuse.

My initial thought is that it’s a size thing, though switching sizes on the website does not show me these different geometries. I tried googling to get an answer but honestly It just made me more confused because I was seeing bikes that people had that showed both options, which lead me back to the size theory. If anyone could confirm that for me that would be awesome!

  1. Yes, it’s because it is an XL. They don’t always have size specific pictures.
