I only heard and read bad reviews about them… Too stiff to walk on but too soft to really improve the ride quality.

Fine for cycling if you ride for the experience, a shorter bike packing trip with just these shoes or within an urban region but not for performance.
Not really comfortable enough to wear all the time. The normal samba is a lot more comfortable
