Looking for a secondary bike to put on trainer, maybe pull son around in a Weehoo trailer.

I have a 2017 specialized Allez E5 Elite that is my usual exercise/group ride bike. Wondering if this older Roubaix would be better for that purpose and move the Allez to Weehoo work.
