      it came like that outta the shop or your bike fell over?

      that’s crazy poor craftsmanship if it came straight from the bike shop. you should be able to push it back into place with a bit of force and no tools needed.

      There is a screw under the rubber part and you pull back the rubber and just screw it down. Some designs have a little plastic slot to let you do it. You need a hex wrench set

      Bike mechanic here. Take it back and make them fix it. That shifter should NOT be like that.

      if you do fix it by yourself, know that the band clamp bolt for the shifter can be too tight. better it be able to slip a bit if you crash on it than have the shifter body break in two.

      how tight is actually too tight? idk i never put a torque wrench to one but from many years of wrenching i just kinda got a feel for it

      Completely the bike shops fault. They have to fix that for you. Bring it back lol

      Looks like it wasn’t tightened properly. There should, you should be able to lift the rubber cover and tighten the clamp. I see the bike wa slike this when you bought it, you should have waited for them to correct it. The shop should have inspected the whole bike before selling it. Checked every bolt. See if wheels were true, checked brakes. Inspected everything to make sure nothing is broken or loose.
      I get it if they did not have time nor you had time and it was rushed. But this is why free tune ups exist. The shop should check the bike for free.
      Feel free to go to the shop and anf see if they to fix it. This will show if they have a clue what they are doing. If they show you how to do it. That’s nice. If all is a secret or it’s “your fault, broken need new parts” for no reason you know to never go there.
      I doubt the clamp is broken.

      Ypu can do it yourself. It has a screw underneath the shifter. Rather than go for the shop for minor fixes.

      You can try to slap it to the right side. I don’t think they torqued it under this situation.

      Brake levers can turn inward like that when the bike falls or sustains an impact/has been in a crash. I’m not saying it definitely had some accident, because it just as likely could be on too loosely and just needs a quick adjust and retightening, but it may be worth looking closely for any other scratches, scuffs, or dents that weren’t there before you brought the bike in to the shop
