Long story short my first bike i was comfortable with years ago. Got back into it with a newer bike and my son has a piqued interest now. So I figured I’d rebuild the bike and let him use it. But I’ve never broken a bike down to bearings before. And the headset bearings don’t seem to be easily removed or are pressed in perhaps? Also I have no idea where to begin with the bottom bracket and what I should replace it with or if any of the bearings are salvageable.

  1. The headset bearings should be easy to install/remove. Those are the headset races and are pressed in. ( probably won’t have to take them out just get new bearings). And the bottom bracket is an unsealed American BB.
