My friend wants her first bike – she’s decided to go for a gravel bike that can also double as a bike touring/commuting bike – hence she’s looking for a bike with mount points for a rack.

What bike would you recommend? Open to other bikes at a similar price point which might be a better deal

At roughly the same price point you might be able to find a Orbea Terra, those are amazing bikes.
The Cannondale topstone…. Not so much. I’ve had soooo much trouble with mine (and I am not alone). To make it worse, Cannondale just doesn’t do customer service. My lbs helped me out for a while and then just got sick of my bike being continuously broken. On my bike the bottom brackets just wouldn’t last more than a few hundred kilometers, the chainrings bend when you apply power, the wheels (rims) keep cracking around the spokes and the freehub is impossible to maintain (and very poor quality).
My girlfriend got an insane deal on a topstone carbon 3 (37% off) and decided to take the risk, despite my experiencs. She is regretting that now, only a few months in the bike is having more than a few problems.
