  1. Knew about it, I understand why they needed to do something and that was one of the only reasonable options to slow rider speed before the fastest cobble sector. But calling it a chicane I think is very misleading. I think a better term is yank everyone off the road, force them to do a 180 hairpin then spit them back out on the road with no speed before the Armberg.
    A chicane is a series of more like a series of curves the riders has to avoid to slow down speed. This is more of a course deviation, just without any added KMs which is what the other alternatives were proposing.
