I had to get a new wheel for this bike because it was bent. The one I found on FB came with a disc brake so I figured why not. Since this bike didn’t have the holes in the bottom of the fork from the factory I got one of those brackets that clamps on to the bottom of the fork. I’m sure you all hate these brackets, I’m not doing any crazy riding so I figured I’d try it. But I couldn’t get the bracket to go on the left side or behind the rotor, so I had to put it on the right and have it in front (just the shape of the bracket and shape of the fork). Is this an issue? It seems to work fine but most pics I see are of the caliper in the rear

You know your fork is backwards, right?
You know your fork is backwards, right? If you turn it 180 degrees so it faces the right way, your brake caliper would be behind the fork where it belongs.
As for adapting a disc brake caliper to a rim brake fork, you run a risk of folding that fork up like a taco.
Stop riding that bike immediately. The steerer tube is bent and the headset is ready to pop off. You’re risking loosing your teeth.
Not trying to be rude but please don’t work on bikes if you can’t spot issues like this.
