Here is my Genesis Equilibrium – beauty of a bike – steel frame, with carbon forks.
I’m a road cyclist, but having now moved to Granada, Spain I’d like to give Gravel a go. My Genesis was primarily used as a road bike but upgraded last year and I semi retired the Genesis. Now it’s sold as a bike suitable for gravel – but I’m wondering how suitable it is and if anyone has any experience? I’ve got 31mm tyres on, as on the back the highest I can go to is 32mm – is this generally too small?
Currently considering selling my mtb and the Genesis to fund a Gravel bike haha

Disc brakes and thru axles – Seems to me the tire clearance is the only significant limitation. 32 is more narrow than most gravel setups, but you’ll only be sacrificing comfort and traction. Anyway, even if its not *ideal,* it should be perfectly safe.

What a great looking bike! 32 mm is pretty small for gravel. Minimum I would go is 38 mm preferable 40 mm. 42 – 45+ mm is pretty standard now. The **Genesis Croix De Fer 40** would be more suitable bike for your riding. The other problem you will have is gearing. 105 groupset is not really ideal for gravel hills in Spain. GRX 2x would be better.
Also you look pretty tall. Maybe different brand with larger frame would be better choice for you. If you want to stay with steel Fairlight is pretty great choice. They have T and R for each size of the bike for better fit.
