The historic city of Rouen takes pride in the numerous environmental projects it has developed and implemented over the last few years. Some of these projects include: creating more traffic-free zones and increasing the number of cycle lanes in the city; protecting the region’s natural habitats and cleaning the waters of the river Seine; cutting back on energy consumption in all public buildings; signing the COP21 agreement; and introducing a wide range of educational activities for the city’s youngest citizens that focus on environmental sustainability.
