At $50 it’s a good deal! That said, I still don’t understand what the crazy obsession is with these younger people and 90’s Specialized MTB’s. I bought both a Stump Jumper and a Hard Rock new. Rode both throughout the 1990’s. I have to tell you, even with more modern components installed, the feeling I got from riding one was summed up in one word: Meh.

Yes. Those Avid brake levers are easily worth $100+ if they’re in good shape.

What are people expecting? Bikes for $5? Of course a Stumpjumper for $50 is a good deal, even for the frame alone.

Crazy good deal if it works fine and nothing needs to be fixed besides the typical stuff

Any bike like that with the original dork disc was probably ridden too hard. Make sure the front fork still functions. The parts and frame are certainly worth much more than $50, so you could part it out and make money if it didn’t work out. I would change out the bars and shifters to some thumbies. Pink flat pedals for the win.

I’d say it’s stolen for $50

Thanks for the encouragement and confirmation, everyone. Thought I would update that after agreeing on a price, time, and place in fb marketplace, I drove the 75 miles to pick the bike up only to have the dude answer the door and say “what bike? Oh dude I must have been talking to two people. I sold that bike earlier today.” Wah wah fml
