I’m relatively new to bike committing (~3 months) and was long overdue for re-oiling the chain. I kept putting it off because I didn’t have any kind of stand and I didn’t want to flip it upside down and get oil all over the bike. Then, I had an epiphany! I DO have a stand, it just attaches to our car. Worked quite well.

No, pedals can’t turn fully, it rotates around the top tube axis, and can’t reach the other side. I would in a pinch though

Indeed, if the *other* conveyance doesn’t have its own obligations (and you don’t have to access the side facing the car, and you have parking), why not?!
I held off from investing in a bike stand until I found one on discount. Makes any maintenance SO much more approachable.
