Hi!!
I have been dreaming about buying a new mountain bike for a couple years now, and I think it might finally be the right time do so! I’ve been riding my beloved 10-year old Trek Cali S for the past several years, which probably doesn’t even qualify as a mountain bike anymore if you’re going by today’s geometry! I have been riding consistently for 4-5 years now.
I live in New England & primarily ride single track in the woods. Any technical trails have lots of roots, rocks, & trees. I enjoy a good climb & fun downhill; both in the moderate range. I like riding flowy trails & and going fast, but don’t see myself launching off any crazy jumps or doing too many technical climbs or downhills. I haven’t ridden in a true bike park before, but I like the occasional flow trail, roller, or berm! My skills have outgrown the capabilities of my current bike, & I am excited to become a better rider!
Based on the trails & I ride & my preferences, I think I’m looking for a solid, full-suspension trail bike with 29” wheels. Doesn’t need to be ultralight carbon or have too much travel, but would definitely like to have a solid fork, drive train, etc. My budget is around $3000 USD.
I’ve been looking into Liv bikes. My friend has the Intrigue 29 2 which I have ridden a few times & really enjoyed. Here are a couple models I’m considering:
[Liv Intrigue Advanced Pro 29 3 (2022)](https://www.liv-cycling.com/us/intrigue-advanced-pro-29-3-2022)
[Liv Intrigue 29 1 (2022)](https://www.liv-cycling.com/us/intrigue-29-1-2022)
Does anyone have experience with them?
I’m not tied to women’s specific lines either. I’ve read things about the Specialized Stumpjumper, Ibis & Canyon bikes…I’ve always liked Trek haven’t looked into their newer models.
I would appreciate any & all recommendations! Happy to elaborate further if needed. Thanks in advance!
