I always wanted to put a rack on the front of the bike and remove the existing origin 8 brake cable hanger I have for the canti brakes. Has anyone seen anything like the green or yellow option drawn on the photo as an alternative cable hanger. I have found similar ones to the yellow option but they don’t have much drop and I can’t get the cable housing at a good angle, it would need like a 1-2in drop to it. Thanks !

  1. Nothing like the green option exists because the hanger has to turn with the forks.

There are a few options for tighter turns with a hanger on the yellow position:
    1) Some hangers come with an integrated noodle that points the cable away. Problem solvers makes one
    2) You can steal the noodle off of a v-brake which will give you a nice 90 degree bend.
    3) You can buy a flexible noodle from jagwire or the like.

Considering you have flat bars, why not just use v-brakes instead of cantis (at least on the front)? I don’t think you will find a steerer mounted hanger that would give you 1-2 inches more. An appropriate brake lever and V-brake caliper wouldn’t be that expensive, especially when you consider you don’t need an adapter then.
