After a few thousands kilometers I’ve realized that my master link is backwards. The chain will work fine.

  2. Probably more common than you think. When attaching the quick link, it’s usually with the bottom section of chain. It’s almost natural to want to install it with the arrow facing forward, which would be installed backwards once you start pedaling.

  3. The arrow on the quick link should point to the direction the chain moves when pedaling.

Link is backwards. The arrow faces to the rear when you clip the link together on the lower part of the chain path.

Is this arrow about the small chance of the link becoming unlatched while under load (if backwards?) or is there something more complicated at hand.
