Would you consider this as a good commuter?
3×8 Acera/Deore
Tektro hydraulic disc brakes
700×40 Schwalbe Citizens
It’s driving good for now. No noises from anywhere. It’s been driven for many years by previous owner. Needs a little bit of maintenance drivetrain-wise, nothing major and critical.

Thanks.

How far will you be commuting daily and what sort of commuting do you do?
If you’re commuting 25 miles down fast country lanes etc I wouldn’t say it’s good.
If you’re commuting <8 miles in a town I think it’d be perfect.
I ride a similar bike to work (about 3 miles) and it suits me well.
Well it has fenders, lights, a chain guard and a rack so it is already a way better commuter than a gravel.
Fantastic for commuter. Long as the price is decent and it fits you well . Obviously wont be the fastest bike in the world. But im sure that wont matter. Parts are still ready to get should anything fail and should be cheap enough. Pair up with a good pannier bag or box and you should be good. I would take it to a bike shop and get them to service the brakes and would chat about how best to look after it.
Edit: just noticed the dyno hub, which is a real plus, They’re not that cheap. This might be absolutely fantastic choice
I would love that as a comuter
