Hello!
Anyone analytical brains enjoy a little puzzle?
I want to buy strong kickstand for touring, but just need to be sure ‘that the space in between the bolts measures 40mm for it to fit’.
My bike is across the world while I’m planning, and my lovely parents wouldnt understand what I’m trying measure, I dont even fully understand what it means.. maybe someone here?
And if you can’t tell from the specs, what exactly would I say to someone at home to have them be able to measure it.
My bike is this carrera

And the kickstand is this
thank you!!!

The images don’t show the area of mounting properly, but from what is visible, it appears a 40mm direct mount stand would **not** fit.
I’ve googled some images of the Crossfire 1 and some suggest the stand will fit, whilst other suggest it won’t. I guess there are different reiterations of this model.
To know for sure ask them to send you a couple of photos of the rear of the left side of the bike. It should be obvious if there are the mounting points.
If it won’t fit then there are alternative stands available that mount to the rear chainstay with a clamp, or mount under the bottom bracket.
Would just get something with a clamp for the chainstay, so you are sure it will fit.
I got this from decathlon, it’s rated 25kg, but it held up my electrified bike with load, probably total of 40+kg:
