Not only will the shock likely give you issues, it likely has the earlier imperial sizing which means you will have a bit of a struggle finding a replacement. Among a lot of other reasons I may advise against old Giants.
Get the Cannondale for sure. It’s far from the best 2020 model but it’s a better use of your money both short term and long term.
