Prices are about the same. They both are my size. And both are from 1994. The trek seems to be stock. Whereas the Specialized is claimed to be a restomod, including what looks to me like some of the titanium parts, which is super unfortunate.
My plans are to use it mainly as a good weather commuter(7 miles round trip). Maybe some light trails. I’ll probably change whichever fork to rigid, and do drop bars or an alt style bar.
Really I’m wondering if these frames are worthwhile, as I’ve been told to be weary of these older mixed composite frames.

The one that is actually usable. The Trek is a trainwreck, seized chain, tons of rust, flat tires, etc.
