Just retrieved these photos from a backup drive. My first bikepacking trip, in August 2015; a solo one-nighter from Llanwrtyd Wells on forest tracks to reach an abandoned viewpoint above Llyn Brianne, and return via the Abergwesyn valley the next morning. Midges, partying campers nearby, an amazing night sky and the best breakfast of my decade, this was an unforgettable trip into the ‘Little Switzerland’ of Wales and the start of something big.
