You have a gramps who builds bikes. He’s the greatest wealth of knowledge you’re gonna get

  2. Always love a pair of Maxxis Hookworms, nice choice!

If you didn’t already, new brake pads (if the old ones are dry and hard). This goes especially for the bike with cantilever brakes. If you’re not super used to them, the [park tool has a great guide](https://www.parktool.com/en-us/blog/repair-help/cantilever-smooth-post-brake-service)!
I am a huge fan of [ergon ergonomic grips](https://www.ergonbike.com/en/product?a=griffe).
The teal bike has some pretty sweet bars. The blue one would look pretty cool with some swept bars.
[These](https://velo-orange.com/collections/flat-and-upright-bars/products/grand-cru-klunker-680?variant=50655528071) are some of my favorite.
A [frame bag](https://www.jandd.com/detail.asp?PRODUCT_ID=FFP) could be pretty sweet, especially on the teal bike which looks to be bigger. It would still give you room to use both bottle cages.

Edit: You’d need a stem with a removable faceplate to use those bars. I still love them, but maybe [this](https://www.somafabshop.com/shop/soma-handlebar-clarence-2750#attr=2555,1999,3247) would be better for that bike.

I’m gonna need to see a photo of your tire clearance on the back of the one with hookworms. I thought my 2.3″ were tight. Those gotta be kissing the paint
