  1. honestly i’m just curious how you found a 120mm spaced rear rim for 12spd – this is kind of awesome (even if the post gets deleted, lol)

Could we get more detailed pics of the rear wheel? Hub etc. Really intrigued how it all fits in

OP takes a Cinelli frame beloved to the FG community and does completely the wrong thing with it. This is exactly the type of outlaw bike shit that fixed riders are known for.

I hope this post doesn’t get deleted, as I’d argue it’s “relevant to fixed gear culture”

Fyxation used to make the “fyx six” or something kit that did the same thing.

I don’t understand it, and it’s not ideal. But…. Do you!

I just have a separate multi speed bike. Purpose built, and better in every way.

Historically (this sub doesn’t like fixed gear history, but I’ll put this out there for any who care) especially in the UK, but Europe in general, a bike would have been not only for fun/sport but also would have been transportation. A single bike would have served multiple roles and be ridden with a variety of setups. Fixed, IGH, and multi speed all on the same bike. As geared bikes became more commonplace, many would train in the “off season” (winter/cold and rainy season) with a fixed gear set-up and then switched to a multiple gear setup for the nicer weather/to be faster. The horizontal and semi horizontal dropouts supported this easily. If one rode mainly fixed gear, and had track ends instead of dropouts, it would not have been uncommon to have a derailleur hanger welded on to the track ends! I’ve seen a few bikes coming out of Europe with these added by the owners. Sometimes by the builder, and sometimes aftermarket. There also were flip flop hubs, but with fixed on one side, and typically a 5 speed freewheel for the other side. Fascinating stuff.

Anyway. I guess if you’re happy, that’s all that matters. Make sure your derailleur is straight and adjusted for ideal shifting. You will have to check more regularly since it is not in a fixed place.

  6. Like installing a 4 speed automatic transmission into a mustang built for drag racing. I can only ask… why?

(Okay to be fair, in relative terms this frameset isn’t exactly equivalent to a drag racer, but anyways…)

What model of levers are those?

Maybe I use V-brakes and I want to switch to alectronic but single chainring.
