Join us for a HUGE Universal Studios Great Britain news update! Universal Destinations & Experiences have now revealed their site master plan for the proposed theme park and resort in Bedford, United Kingdom. Back in December Universal confirmed that they had purchased 480 acres of land for a potential theme park and resort and this week more details have emerged about their plans on the official website. In this video I take a detailed look at the plans along with sharing all of the latest news!

  1. I would rather they buy Alton Towers, build within the restrictions to keep the uniqueness of it, but buy surrounding land to expand. They would even have the budget to totally do up the Towers to turn it into a working building. I know they cannot build rides in there, but surely they'd be allowed to faithfully restore it and turn it into a high end hotel or a museum or something.

  2. This will be a great addition for the area. If they can get the mix of entertainments right for the winter weather and also have some budget hotel/ catering options to attract UK families, then this could be a big success.

  3. For a project this size, in the UK no less, that timescale is pretty unrealistic. I've seen much smaller projects take longer than that. Seems massively optimistic to me. I do hope it happens though, regardless of timescales.

  4. Honestly i don't see this location as the most suitable for a traditional open-air theme park, I see more of an indoor Universal experience, with this type of weather and number of hours of sunshine more than half the year. Type of mixing shows like The stunt show of Bourne in Orlando but from 007, plus immersive attractions from Doctor Who and Harry Potter, something aimed at the British public, and even new studios for the enormous number of productions made in the UK, and would leave the traditional open-air Universal park for another European area with better weather, more hours of sunlight and more Euro-friendly, especially with future restrictions and procedures for European travelers. Even in Paris, Disney took decades to work well, this is less appetizing as a recurring destination, perhaps to visit just once…

  5. I live approx 2 miles from the proposed site of the theme park and I really hope this project delivers and we end up with a great attraction. Fingers crossed

  6. Looking forward to a Planet Coaster series for a concept park when we get more details! Maybe Planet Coaster 2 if it's coming within a year or so.
