im not sure what it means personally but if i heard that coming from my hub i’d be opening it to inspect it, clean, and grease it

Regardless, u/commit_label_trying has the right idea.
I’ve used the Nankai, the KHE free coaster, and the Z-coaster and anytime they ever acted weird or made strange noises, disassembling, cleaning, and regreasing has always taken care of the issue.
