Hi all, I am currently on a dilemma regarding upgrading my wheelset.
I have a Cannondale Trail (2021) which I am mainly use for XC or bikepacking adventures. I have also a 2022 Cannondale Habit which is completely rebuild and I am riding for more hard stuff.
The bike was originally the Trail 3 with a front derailleur which has been removed and the basic Rockshox Judy fork and some 5 Series shimano brakes.
The following modifications have already taken place;
– Deore brakes
– Reba fork
– Deore cranks
– Deore shifter and cassette (1×11)
The bike costed around 1100 Euro and I put around 600 for upgrades since the original purchase.
My main problem is due to the fact that the frame has a quick release non boost rear axis and as a result I am quite limited in options for rear wheels.
The current wheel set-up is the WTB i21 and ideally I would like to go for a wider rim ( e.g. 25 mm).
Currently is not an option to buy a new bike and I am wondering what are my options for a wheel set and if it will make a difference upgrading.
I have checked the following wheels:
Mavic Crossmax non boost for the rear but I am not sure whether I will be able to fit them (at least the rear). Is there an adapter for that?

My budget for a set would be around 300Euro.
Do I have any option for a set where the front wheel is boost and the rear is non boost?
Will it make a difference in the whole riding experience going from 21 to 25mm or I am just trying to find justifications to spend more money on an old bike?
