My wife is interested in getting a new bike for a very short commute to work, and for regular cycling around our city (light grocery shopping etc.). She wants something comfortable, functional, and nice looking.
I currently ride a Priority/Brilliant L Train. I wanted the Priority Continuum Onyx, but settled on the L train as a compromise to maximize the amount I was getting from my employer’s bicycle subsidy. I was very interested in trying the belt drive/internal gear hub combo, and I loved it, so I am looking for a bike with the same drivetrain for her.
Priority has some good options, but shipping to Canada is expensive, and customs/import charges are worse. So I have been looking at this:

The bike checks a lot of boxes. It has the 7 speed Nexus Hub, the belt drive, a nice upright position, it looks cool, and it comes with a rack, basket, and dynamo powered lights(of course these could be added to almost any bike). It also has disc brakes, which aren’t essential, but are a good bonus. The only problem is that the price is a bit higher than I’d like to spend.
Are there any alternatives that check these boxes and are available in Canada?
Or can you convince me that my checklist of wants is not necessary? I think a 3 speed would probably suffice, but 7 is a nice-to-have. Basically, the important thing is the belt drive and the more comfortable and upright seating position.
Please let me know if you have any recommendations!
