Hi all,
My PT client gave me this bike and said it is to be “held in reverence”.
Ive never owned a road bike before. Is there anything to know about this bike feature wise? How much is this worth?
I live in a city where bike theft is rampant so id like to know from other bike enthusiasts what im riding lol. Thanks!

Looks like a Cannondale caad9 neutral service bike. Late 90s. Early 2000s.
A bit of a “collectors/special edition bike” but it’s still not gonna be worth 1k because it’s so old
Basically, during bike races like the tour de France, each team has a couple of cars with spare parts, bikes, and a mechanic inside to troubleshoot or replace parts. However, a parts manufacturer will also be responsible for providing neutral service, which serves every team equally. Before 2021, it was Mavic, and it’s now Shimano, at least for the tdF. What you have is a frame that was contacted to Cannondale and painted in Mavic’s colors to built up as one of the neutral service bikes. I’m not sure the year, but they seem to be pretty rare based on what I could scrounge up.
He’s more info on neutral service, and a bike forums post about another Cannondale Mavic neutral service bike:

Hopefully this helps!
Since when did bikeporn become bikeIDporn?
Mid-late 2000’s service course bike, may or may not have ridden atop a neutral service car at Le Tour or elsewhere. Looks complete to spec except for maybe the Salsa seatpost clamp. Cool find!!!
