I’ve a 6 yr old hybrid for my 5 miles a day gentle London commute. It is not a fancy bike at all, [(similar to this one.)](https://www.halfords.com/bikes/second-hand-bikes/adult-bikes/second-hand-grade-b—voodoo-marasa-mens-hybrid-bike—s-m-l-frames-808390.html)
Recently, I seem to break a few rear spokes every 6-9 months (I’m a solid 93kg and carry panniers with extra weight at times).
What can I do to reduce this as it’s costing around £25 a go to fix them each time. Do I need a new wheel; or a new wheel with more spokes, or all spokes to be replaced? or….?
Also, if relevant, I am sure in around 6 months I reckon I need to have all the gears/chain replaced as they are on their way out..
What kind of costs are involved too?
Thanks in advance and any advice appreciated

you need a wheel rebuild with new spokes and spoke nipples…each time a spoke breaks, other spokes experience stress.
I would buy a nicer wheel spend like 150-250 on a wheel that I tended for extra weight once you add up replacing 36 spokes one at a time it’s worth it. Other option is having all the spokes replaced at thw same time which would be like 60 bucks ask for dt Swiss non butted spokes.
