That alta looks like it should have more rigidity based on design. That’s part of their claim — that it’s for offroading. It also has a slightly higher weight capacity (60lbs vs 55 per bike).
It looks like it would be more sturdy given the additional supports.

Having used both Alta and Velocirax (not in those sizes) the Velocirax are better build quality and more refined.
Alta has had some various issues over the years with hoop failure. My understanding is that he has always warrantied and addressed issues. But Velocirax are really outstanding racks.
Edit: Also the strut on the Velo makes loading and unloading so easy for smaller riders. At 5’1″, it is the easiest loading vertical rack I have used.
