After some humming and hawing, snagged this 2023 P-Line in December on sale and have been waiting for the snow to melt and road salt to dissipate. So far I’ve changed the M handlebars to Joseph Kusuoc with less rise and Pedals to MKS Ezy. My C line is a 2017 Urban 2 speed that I got for a song second hand. I’ve upgraded it a lot: Schwalbe ones, titanium seatpost, Aceoffix Ti spindle pedals, fenders, H&H rear rack.

The new P line weighs in at 22.6lbs. Just a hair lighter than the C Line. Took it for an easy 15km ride and it rides amazingly. Very good, stiff power transfer to pedals. The stock tires are excellent, almost as good as Schwalbe Ones. The JK handlebars were the big surprise, wow I like them better than the S bars on my C line. I used to ride road a lot so am used to that posture but man the slight rise and angle on the JK bars, plus the greater width, make it feel super stable and comfy, especially when standing to pedal. So good I might have to get some for my C line. The MKS pedals are super nice and grippy and have a bigger foot print than my Aceoffix ones, so nicer to ride with, but not as light.

The gears are shifting butter smooth for now, and the free hub sounds like my Supersix EVO, which I love because it’s a great warning sound as you’re passing (in addition to the bell, of course). Truly a joy to ride! My ONLY tiny complaint is that the easy wheels on the P line rack make mild rattling noises as you ride, unlike the Litepro wheels I have on my C line. I also don’t love the aesthetic look of the Brompton rack compared to my H&H one but that’s minor.

Anyways if you’re on the fence about a P-Line I don’t think you’ll be disappointed! Cheers and happy riding! Also from these upgrades I have parts (M handlebars, 2 sets of Brompton pedals, 44t chainring, etc) so if anyone is looking for parts let me know.

  1. Please elaborate on the fender upgrade. I got an H&H rack a while back but didn’t end up installing when I found you couldn’t use the stock Brompton rear fender with it. It would be nice to have the H&H as its lighter and looks better.
