I picked up my dream old bike yesterday!
Changed saddle, tires, and grips. Added cages.
Last photo shows original equipment!
I don’t plan on making it super modern so I wasn’t sure if it belongs here or just in some vintage mtb page. Either way I love this thing.

Nice colour.
I wouldn’t do anything modern to it all. I would keep as much stock as possible except for perishables like tires. I would even keep the dork disk. A good wash/wax and polish for the bright bits and you’ve got a head turner.
I just built up the exact same bike for my BIL. I got mine for $25 though and it was seized and rusted, so I got to modernize mine guilt free. It’s an awesome bike either way.
